MIDTEXAS RESPONSE

A MESSAGE FROM MIDTEXAS CONFERENCE SUPERINTENDENT, BISHOP LEAH HIDDE GREGORY

Please join me in prayers for the communities affected by the devastating flooding in Central Texas and the Hill Country.  MidTexas is mobilizing to provide assistance to these areas, including flood buckets, donations to support local first responders (many of whom are volunteer organizations), and offering ministry through our local congregations.

An all-call has been placed for local congregations to prepare flood buckets and make donations.  You will find a list of the contents by clicking here (en Español).  Fortunately, we have approximately 150 premade buckets that we can distribute starting this Sunday, but we will need to replenish our supplies.

Please make your donation to Disaster Recovery - MidTexas in the following ways:
  • Give online here
  • Text "GIVEMIDTEX Disaster" to 73256
  • Mail checks to PO Box 5015, San Angelo, TX 76902.

Other collection sites will come online over the weekend. The hope is to store 50-100 buckets throughout the annual conferences for disasters that may occur.
There will be opportunities for church work teams to help with clean-up in the coming weeks. More to follow on those opportunities. For now, please reach out to your churches, letting them know about the appeal and seeking prayers for those amid the aftermath of this storm. Please pray for our local churches, which are dealing with flooding of their own while also caring for their communities.
