Ryan Barnett is husband to Kim, dad to Davis, an ordained elder in the Global Methodist Church and lead pastor of First Methodist Waco. He graduated high school in his hometown of Friendswood, Texas and holds a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Texas at Austin, a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary, an MBA from Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi, and is the proud holder of an “Alumni by Choice” Award from Baylor University!
Prior to becoming pastor of First Methodist Waco, Ryan served churches in Kerrville, Corpus Christi, and San Antonio. He has previously served on the Board of Directors for the Confessing Movement, was an initial Director of the Wesleyan Covenant Association, and is currently the First Vice Chairman for Good News.
He is the founding pastor of the Wesley House of Studies at Baylor University’s Truett Seminary where he currently serves as preaching faculty for the Pastoral Studies Program. In the MidTexas Conference of the Global Methodist Church he serves as the Senior Advisor to the President and the Connectional Council Chair. He is also the Finance Chair for the convening General Conference of the Global Methodist Church.
