MIDTEXAS ANNUAL CONFERENCE

Local churches make disciples for Jesus Christ and spread scriptural holiness across the globe. The MidTexas Annual Conference exists to energize and equip local congregations for faithfulness and to hold pastors and congregations accountable for Kingdom success.

Through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, the Global Methodist Church envisions multiplying disciples of Jesus Christ throughout the earth who flourish in scriptural holiness as we worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly.

The MidTexas Conference stretches from the Red River to the Gulf of Mexico and includes congregations from North Texas, Central Texas, and Rio Texas areas. If you are a congregation or clergy member seeking to align with The Global Methodist Church, we encourage you to apply and be a part of what God is doing in the MidTexas Conference!

Can I Get A Witness?: Witnessing to the Power of God

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." - Acts 1:8

Moved to Witness Story

Jason Teague  - First Methodist Burnet

Though our financial situation has improved a little in the last two months, ministry resources remain tight, and we are therefore under-staffed. We could really use a custodian, a children’s ministry leader, and a youth director. In particular, we have been struggling to keep our youth group going, and so we have been praying for God’s provision in this area (and others). Recently, I was asked to come to the local Ratio Christi school, which is a college preparatory program intended to help students prepare to defend their faith and be able to witness to their faith in life beyond high school. They were doing a unit on Dietrich Bonhoeffer and the cost of discipleship, and I was, therefore, being asked to talk to them about the costs we paid for disaffiliation, such as the lawsuit and the loss of long-time friends. A few days later, the man who had asked me to do the presentation invited me to lunch, ostensibly to thank me. As we ate lunch, we discussed our faith journeys, and he told me that for the last few months, due to various circumstances, he was
“church-homeless.” I told him he was welcome to “come check us out on a Sunday morning,” which was when he confessed that was his real reason for inviting me to lunch that day. He believed God was calling him to come work with our youth, if that was okay. (I’ve known him through the local ministerial alliance for years, and he is biblically solid.) He came to visit, I gave him and his wife a catechism, and some Seedbed Seedlings on Arminianism and the character of a methodist. (He later expressed delight in how he never realized how much Wesleyan doctrine lined up with his own beliefs.) Within a few weeks, He and his wife joined the church and completed MinistrySafe screening and training. By the way, he has a Doctor of Ministry in theology and apologetics, and his thesis was on stopping the exodus of the younger generations from the church. God is good and faithful, and answers prayer.
